What is a Dental Cleaning?

Regular dental cleanings are an important part of maintaining your oral health.  Even if you are brushing and flossing regularly, there are places a toothbrush cannot reach. For this reason professional cleanings are advised to remove hardened plaque and tarter.

Keep in mind that there are different types of cleanings, and recare schedules (3 months, 6 months, etc...).  Your dentist will determine what is best for you.

How could you benefit from a professional cleaning?

  • Reduce discoloring of teeth (if discoloring is superficial)
  • Removal of plaque and calculus
  • Strenghtening of the gums by removing irritants
